After going to law school, David Bellon realized that it wasn’t what he wanted. He wanted to be pushed and tested. He joined the Marines, served a full contract and was ready to get out…Then 9/11 happened and changed the course of his life.
Now currently in his 4th decade of service, Lt General David Bellon shares his story as an infantry officer leading TASK FORCE TARAWA and later TASK FORCE SCORPION through intense urban combat in the early days of the insurgency in FALLUJAH, Iraq and KANDAHAR, Afghanistan. He recounts the emotional and psychological toll of that experience, regaining his mental footing and leading new Marines through the difficulties of subsequent deployments.
