Bradley Lanphear

Director of Photography

Bradley began his career in 2010. Since then, Bradley has directed and produced short films for a notable list of clients.

When not behind a camera, Bradley is an avid outdoorsman and a passionate woodworker. He also, thinks that writing about himself in the 3rd person is weird.

Born into a military family, I didn’t know I was a creative until I was in my mid 20’s. I grew up with all my plans and activities geared towards joining the military myself, but after high school and a few very difficult years of self-discovery, I realized that I wanted something else.

Throughout all those years I always had a camera with me, but it wasn’t until I was about 26 when I decided to pursue it professionally. Suddenly I came alive and everything “clicked”.

I started my first business shooting weddings together with my wife. I didn’t know anything about running a business, but making images that people fell in love with came naturally. Photojournalism and visual story-telling became my 2nd language. After a good run of shooting weddings, I wanted to tell more diverse stories, so we closed shop on the weddings and I started working for magazines.

In 2017, I tried my hand at video. My very first attempt at making a professional video was for a real client and I was scared to death. Miraculously, it actually went well and we created something pretty awesome and I was instantly hooked on this thing called cinematography.

I didn’t stop doing still photography, but I was captivated by the ability to tell a fuller and more immersive story through film making. A whole new world of possibilities with a camera opened up and I took off running. I see it all as a developing story for myself and the career I’m building. A vision that is continually evolving.

In 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic lockdown, I won my first award for… anything…

A project that I worked on for over a year won Best Narrative Short Film at the BendFilm Festival. But the craziest part, is that it was technically a music video without a single word of spoken dialogue.

A wordless music video won best narrative.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around that. It was a life changing moment for me which cemented this thing called storytelling more than anything I had done previously. I had found my tribe.
