North Pocono Senior Photos | Jenna
Location: Nay Aug Park, Scranton, PA
I had a great time photographing Jenna in the always beautiful, Nay Aug gorge, in Scranton. Towards the end of the session, I discovered by accident that I was still carrying some left over smoke bombs in my shoot bag from a previous session. Things got interesting after that. The image with the purple smoke is one of my favorite images ever. And to think… That was never even planned. Gotta love those happy accidents…
The cool reflection images at the bottom were created using a prism. Believe it or not, she was standing BEHIND me when I made those images. Yes, you read that right…
How it works – I point the camera at whatever I want to be the background and then place the subject behind me at about a 45° angle to either side. Then I hold the prism in front of the lens and rotate it until it reflects the subject. The result is the effect seen below which I think kind of emulates a double exposure. I think it’s pretty cool. I usually save that for the end of a session though. I can always see the confusion on someone’s face when I try to explain that I want them behind me. Bad way to start a session… Great way to end a session. haha.
Also, Jenna can really rock the straight face.
