When it comes to senior photos, I’ve never been a fan of making the subject look like a fashion model. I’ve always made it my highest goal in shooting portraits to try to capture who the person really is rather than make them look like something I want them to be.

Especially when it comes to guys. Guys don’t want pretense. They don’t like being in front of the camera to begin with, so it’s best not to make them feel awkward by posing them in odd or unnatural ways. I try to help them get into their own element and take their mind off of the fact that I’m taking photos.

Authenticity is never a fad.
