Alisa and her cousin Charae invited me out to photograph them at Cannon Beach on their last day in Oregon during their road trip from San Francisco to Seattle. I’ve actually known Alisa for several years as we worked alongside each other at several weddings back at our home in Pennsylvania. She is a professional wedding celebrant and she creates and officiates the most beautiful wedding ceremonies I’ve ever seen. She’s also super fun to hang out with.
I spent the whole day scouting on the coast before this session, looking for a place that wasn’t crowded with people. It’s hard to find a secluded spot in a place as beautiful as this. We got lucky though. It took some effort, some hiking over steep slopes and battling against thorns and treacherous slippery spots, but the payoff was worth it when we found ourselves standing on this precipice with no one anywhere near us and looking down on an utterly deserted and breathtaking beach.
This was my first photo shoot on the Oregon coast and it was everything I’d imagined.
